Barrie bookkeeper for trades and contractors.

That's not something I take lightly. Here's who I am, how I got here, and why I chose to work specifically with trades businesses.

From Barrie, for Barrie's trades businesses.

I'm Franco Moyano, the founder of Moyano & Co. I'm a bookkeeper based in Barrie, Ontario, and I work exclusively with trades businesses and contractors.

I chose to specialize in trades businesses because the records often include holdbacks, subcontractor payments, payroll, HST and T5018 data. I wanted to build a practice where those workflows are documented clearly and tax, legal or classification decisions are referred to the appropriate adviser.

I am not going to pretend I have decades of grey hair. What I bring is a focused contractor-bookkeeping workflow, modern cloud tools, clear documentation and direct communication. The proposal and agreement set the scope, client deadlines and report target before work begins.

I grew up in Barrie, I know this area, and I take seriously the responsibility of looking after the financial side of local businesses.

A few things I believe in.

Plain-language explanations

I explain bookkeeping issues in practical terms and separate routine bookkeeping from questions that should go to your accountant, lawyer or another qualified adviser.

You'll actually reach me

You receive my direct email, and Plus clients also receive priority phone support. Response timing depends on the question, active deadlines and the scope in your agreement.

Cloud-first by design

Cloud accounting allows permission-based access and remote collaboration. The platform, ownership and active tools are listed in each client agreement.

I work with your accountant, not instead of them

I organize the available financial statements, general ledger, trial balance, reconciliations, filing summaries and open items for your external accountant. This is designed to reduce avoidable back-and-forth, although the accountant controls their own work and fees.

Focused instead of generic

I focus on trades businesses in Ontario so the chart of accounts, monthly questions and year-end package can reflect contractor records rather than a generic template.

Your data stays private

I use permission-based cloud systems, limit access to the agreed purpose and disclose information only as described in the engagement terms and Privacy Policy.

How I protect client information.

I use named-user access, accountant invitations and secure cloud platforms rather than asking clients to share personal passwords. Access is limited to the selected engagement, and my privacy, retention and incident-handling practices are described in the Privacy Policy. Professional liability insurance is separate from data-security controls and does not guarantee against every loss.

If you want to know exactly how I handle your data, my Privacy Policy covers it in plain terms, not legalese.
